Ashok Leyland Commence Export Of Vehicles To Zimbabwe
Ashok Leyland has commenced the export of their vehicles and spare parts to Zimbabwe. They organised a flag-off ceremony at Mumbai Port Trust on 28th of June, 2015.
The Indian manufacturer had been awarded a contract from Zimbabwe Government. Ashok Leyland will also be providing training for technical staff and the maintenance of its products.
Under the contract they will be providing Zimbabwe with 633 models. This order from Ashok Leyland will be accepted by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
Present at the flag off ceremony was Yaduvendra Mathur, Exim Bank Chairman and Managing Director. Also present was David Rasquinha Deputy Managing Director and Harsa Bangari General Manager Ashok Leyland.
Relationship between India and Zimbabwe is expected to move forward with Ashok Leylands export programme. More manufacturers could follow this route and it is a good sign for Indian manufacturers.
