Android Auto To Debut First In Hyundai Sonata
The 2015 Hyundai Sonata LF will be the first car to be debuted with Google Android Auto's telematics platform. Other Hyundai cars too will feature this service in the future.
Current Hyundai Sonata owners whose cars are equipped with navigation will be able to update their systems for free, either by visiting a Hyundai dealer or by downloading the app onto a USB device.
Car owners will have to upgrade phones as well to the latest 5.0 ‘Lollipop' operating system or newer. The phone will have to be connected to the car using a micro USB cable. The system will then automatically prompt, asking for the software download.
Apps such as Google Maps, Google Now, Google Play Music and more will be designed to be used in a car and will appear on the in-dash display.
These apps can be controlled either by steering mounted controls, touch screen interaction or by voice control.
