Anand Mahindra Receives Honorary Doctorate From IIT Bombay
Anand Mahindra is the Chairman of Mahindra Group, he has been credited to the success of both their two-wheeler and four-wheeler success. He has taken the Indian brand to international markets as well.
On 13th of August, 2015 at the 53rd Convocation of IIT Bombay, Anand Mahindra received a Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa). He has also received a Harvard Medal and is also the very first Indian to do so.
Anand Mahindra, expressed, "Everyone says that 'Jugaad' is India's biggest contribution to the world. What I want from all of you is to work towards moving from 'Jugaad' to 'Jhakaas'. This is about thinking differently and not just thinking cheap."
He further added, "‘Jhakaas' is about disruption and sustained disruption requires an educational culture where questioning is encouraged and failure is embraced. I would argue that one of the ‘I's in IIT stands for imagination."
Mahindra will soon be launching a couple of new four-wheelers beginning with the TUV300, which will be launched on 10th September, 2015. The Indian manufacturer is also expected to launch its highly anticipated Mojo motorcycle in the country.
