Aditya Patel Tops Pre-Season Test Session

Aditya Patel has topped the pre-season test session of the Audi R8 LMS Cup 2015 held in Zhuhai, China. Aditya, who is marking his debut on the Zhuhai racetrack, put in an impressive performance over two days to take the pole position.

He raced ahead of seasoned racers such as Rahel Frey, Marchee Lee and Frankie Cong fu Chen with an impressive lap time of 1.34.985. The Audi R8 LMS Cup is starting its fourth season at Zhuhai, South China on March 21, 2015.

Aditya Patel said, "I am pretty happy with the way the test went. I came here on the back foot, being one of the few drivers who hasn't been on this race track before. Now I am looking forward to the race weekend! The Audi R8 LMS Cup is a great series and I'm looking forward to some great races this year."

Supported by Audi India, JK Tyres, Amante and Jubilant Motorworks the young driver from Chennai will now begin his fourth year with Audi.

Former Formula One driver, Alex Yoong will also be present on the grid for the race weekend.

The Audi R8 LMS Cup is part of the Audi Sport customer racing Asia program and is operated by Audi China. The brand with the Four Rings offers racing enthusiasts in Asia a full range of services, from sports car experiences to race training, racing licence courses and race-ready Audi R8 LMS cars.

The Audi R8 LMS Cup car is a specially developed GT3 race car and shares about 50 percent of its technological base with the road version Audi R8.

The Audi R8 LMS Cup will also travel to Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan from China as a support race to GT Asia and the World Endurance Championship.
