Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition Revealed
Abarth 595 has been revealed in an all-new Yamaha Factory Racing Edition. The performance hatchback was recently launched in the Indian market, as a brand introduction model. The company will be introducing the Abarth Punto in the country on 19th of October 2015.
In MotoGP, Abarth is the official sponsor and car supplier for Movistar Yamaha team. The Japanese-based team, which includes Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, are sure to pick the MotoGP constructors championship.
Powering Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition is a 1.4-litre T-Jet engine. This engine produces 160 horsepower and 230Nm of torque. Engineers have provided the hatchback with a Record Monza 4 outlet valve exhaust system and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The special edition model drives on 17-inch Formula matt black finish alloy wheels. Abarth engineers have also lowered the ride height and provided an all-new suspension setup. All this helps the vehicle to achieve a top speed of 209 km/h, and a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 7.4 seconds.
Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition costs 17,420 Pounds on-road (INR 17,40,209). The new edition will be offered in seven colour options. The car is highly unlikely to be offered in India anytime soon.
Gerry Southerington, Brand Manager, Abarth UK, expressed, that the new Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition adds dimension to their portfolio. They have extracted more performance and upgraded several parts. This model is expected to attract more buyers to the Abarth brand.
