2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible [Pics] — Bring On The Summer!
Quite possibly a very anticipated launch for both Land Rover as well as for customers — the Evoque Convertible — has been revealed ahead of its schedule, which was the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Evoque was spotted testing numerous times in the past and also Range Rover has posted pictures of the vehicle being tested. The test vehicle wore heavy camo, so not much details were visible. Now, however, official pictures and videos are here, and we have to admit, the Evoque drop top is quite a nice looking vehicle.
Also, the British carmaker has not priced the vehicle too high, making it not out of reach for many. The Ranger Rover Evoque Convertible starts from USD 51,470 (Rs. 34.19 lakh), which is around USD 4,000 (Rs. 2.65 lakh) more than the hardtop version.
Powering the Evoque Convertible will be the standard 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox, which is found in the current hardtop models. Although this drop top version has lost a massive chunk of metal in the form of a roof, the convertible is heavier than the hardtop.
Extra weight could be the result of reinforcement, but the vehicle still reaches 60mph (96km/h) from a standstill in 7.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 112mph (180km/h).
Interior too, is similar to that offered in the regular Evoque, apart from the fixed rear twin seats. The Evoque convertible gets a centre bolster between the rear seats, with a redesigned quarter trim speakers. Range Rover also claim that the rear can accommodate adults, but could be quite cramped.
The Range Rover Evoque convertible will make its global debut during the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show that will take place on Nov. 18. The convertible Evoque will be available in the SE Dynamic and HSE Dynamic trim, and will go on sale as the 2017 model.
