2015 New York Auto Show: Mitsubishi 2016 Outlander Revealed
The 2015 New York Auto Show is underway and Japanese automobile manufacturer Mitsubishi has revealed its new SUV. They have debuted their new 2016 Outlander for global markets.
Don Swearingen, MMNA Executive Vice President, expressed, "The 2016 Outlander has an eye-catching new design aesthetic inside and out, and with its long list of engineering upgrades, the new Outlander literally looks, drives and feels like an entirely new vehicle, making it an even more compelling value than before."
He further added, "Mitsubishi's outstanding sales momentum is carrying into the new-year and with the arrival of the 2016 Outlander crossover we are well positioned to sustain our growth."
2015 New York Auto Show commenced on 1st April. Mitsubishi has revealed its re-designed premium SUV for global markets in the form of 2016 Outlander. The SUV sports their new design language that will be adopted across their range of automobiles.
The 2016 Outlander by Mitsubishi looks like it borrowed design cues from Lexus. Wide open grille looks reminiscent of compatriot brand, however, we believe Mitsubishi has improvised the design to make it look good on their SUV. Designers have worked on front fenders and fascia, they have provided halogen headlights with LED position lights.
From the side 2016 Outlander retains its SUV presence. Mitsubishi has smoothened its design and kept it simple, which caters to a wider audience. We liked the 18-inch alloy wheels on this SUV and hopefully, it will be offered with the vehicle.
The simplistic design continues to the rear as well. Mitsubishi designers have provided wraparound taillights, which create an illusion of a wider rear. 2016 Outlander sports a GT badge and we are wondering what it could mean.
Mitsubishi will provide its 2016 Outlander with an all black interior. The SUV will sport several creature comforts to provide maximum luxury to occupants. We can stop saying this, Mitsubishi has managed to keep the interior simple and premium, which is a tough combination to achieve.
Mitsubishi will equip its 2016 Outlander with several safety features. Japanese engineers have provided Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control. Engine details have not been provided, however, Mitsubishi is keen to bring this SUV to India as soon as possible.
