2015 New York Auto Show: Honda Civic Concept Steals The Show
There are certain cars no matter where they are showcased they will always have a following. Honda's Civic is one of those rare cars that draws attention in any part of the world.
Japanese manufacturers have revealed their Civic Concept at 2015 New York Auto Show. The futuristic design and eye-catching paint scheme has made it the show stealer.
Several other vehicles are present at the Auto Show, however, being a close to production ready concept spectators are pleased to see what is coming their way.
Honda showcased their Civic Concept as a coupe, however, they have confirmed they will launch the sedan version first. It is a global product and will be introduced in several markets. It is unclear if it will be offered in India and we hope Honda opts to bring it here.
Japanese designers have gone for a sporty look with their Civic Concept. They have maintained all the good bits from previous generations and improved everything around it. It also draws some design elements from their NSX supercar model.
We would really like to see Honda retain the single mid-exhaust outlet. The spoiler adds to sporty avatar of this vehicle. That unique looking taillight cluster will surely not make it to production stage and we are hoping something similar will replace it. Edgy, sharp and aerodynamic are the words that come to mind when we see Honda's Civic Concept.
Honda officials have confirmed this new Civic will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It will be mated to an optional 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. Performance output has not been revealed and looking at Civic's past we can bet its going to be mighty powerful.
