2015 Geneva Motor Show: Nissan Sway Hatchback Unveiled
Nissan has unveiled it highly anticipated compact hatchback, the Sway. The vehicle has been revealed at 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It is a glimpse into the future product offerings by the Japanese manufacturer.
Nissan had previously showcased concepts at the Geneva Motor Show, which gave birth to unique models. The recent two popular vehicles from the Japanese stable is Juke and Qashqai. Their Sway compact hatchback is part of their future radical thinking.
Nissan will be giving its Micra a complete overhaul by 2016. The Sway concept seems to be a step in that direction and we are liking what we are seeing. This compact hatchback will be designed in Europe and could receive similar styling to the concept vehicle.
Nissan has provided a V-motion grille with bumper and bonnet designed around it. The Sway concept compact hatchback gets definitive lines along the bodywork. Japanese designers have given the vehicle a flowing design, thus giving it the illusion that it is in motion even as it stands still.
The rear of Nissan's Sway gets boomerang inspired tail lamps. It also gets dual trapezoidal exhaust ports, integrated into the rear bumper. Alloy wheels have been paid special attention to and will most likely not make it to the production model.
Paul Willcox, Chairman Nissan Europe, commented, "Nissan is on the move. The brand stands for bold, innovative thinking in the European automotive market - indeed around the globe - and our growth in Europe is led by outstanding new products, which are defined by outstanding design."
Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President, Design and Chief Creative Officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. expressed, We believe that the Sway continues our tradition of challenging the status quo in market segments by bringing something fresh, distinctive and striking, much as we did with Qashqai and Juke."
