2015 Detroit Auto Show: Maserati Showcases Its Alfieri Concept
The 2015 Detroit Motor Show has been a grand stage for several manufacturers to showcase their future models. Many manufacturers this year showcased production ready models and there were very few concept models.
Italian luxury car manufacturer Maserati had nothing new to showcase, however, they showcased their concept which was developed last year. The Alfieri was present in all its glory and attracted many attendees to Maserati's stand.
During 2014, the Italian manufacturer celebrated its centenary year. To mark this occasion they launched their all new Ghibli and Quattroporte, along with a few limited editions. They also announced that 2014 has been extremely successful for Maserati as they have broken their previous sales record.
Maserati has recorded sales figures of 36,500 cars across the globe. This is an increase of 136 percent over sales during 2013. These numbers were achieved wing to their new products. They account for 23,500 Ghibli, 9,500 Quattroporte and 3,500 GranTurismo and GranCabrio sold in 2014.
Also present at 2015 Detroit Motor Show was the 2015 Quattroporte S Q4. Maserati will also be introducing Signature GranTurismo coupe and convertible models. The Italian manufacturer is also working on introducing their entry level Ghibli saloon. All these models are expected by the end of 2015 or early 2016.
The Alfieri by Maserati is expected to be launched in the coming years. Italian engineers are expected to provide only V6 twin-turbocharged engines. These will be offered in various performance outputs. The base model will produce 410 horsepower, but they will also offer 450- and 520-horsepower versions.
