Volkswagen Car Price Reduced Following Excise Duty Cut
Following the excise duty reduction announced earlier this week by the Finance Minister for automobiles German car maker Volkswagen has announced that it will pass on the benefits to its customers through price cuts across its product line in India.

"We welcome the Government's decision to reduce excise duty on cars and we at Volkswagen have decided to pass on the entire benefit to our customers. We hope this move will help improve the market sentiment in the automotive industry," said Mr. Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

Volkswagen Polo, the automaker's entry level car, will cost Rs 18,000 to Rs 31,000 less depending on the variant.
Volkswagen Vento, the entry level sedan based on the Polo, is now cheaper by Rs 14,500 to Rs 31,000 depending on the variant.
Lastly, price of Volkswagen Jetta has been slashed by Rs 38,000 to Rs 51,000 depending on the variant.
The excise benefits will be applicable with immediate effect and is the same in all states.
