Shocking Video: Ambulances In India Don’t Get Right Of Way
Living in the city, tackling your way through traffic, one can often hear an ambulance siren. Some say prayers for the person inside and some just ignore it. How many times has one thought of helping?
Well, helping in the sense of nothing extraordinary like donating cash or paying for the injured person, but helping by just giving way. Not many do that because people stuck in traffic see the ambulance as a vehicle that can clear traffic jams and so they tail it.
This is not what should happen. An ambulance is meant to be an ICU on wheels. It is supposed to give all the first aid possible to the patient till they reach a hospital. The first four minutes delay in the ambulance getting to the victim can reduce his survival chances from 70 percent to 7 percent.

"India is like this only" is a phrase heard very often, with people blaming our society. Changing the country for the better relies on every individual. A country is made up of states, states made of societies, societies made of communities, communities made of families and families made of individuals!
The video is taken from an ambulance driver's point of view. When he gets an emergency call, it shows just what narrow minded and heartless creatures we are compared to how people respond to an ambulance in developed countries.
The video proves just how ignorant we are and that we have no heart or value for another person's life. From the idiot who has his car parked blocking the ambulance, to the rickshaw who slams his brakes right in front of the ambulance. Even traffic does not stop or give way!
The person could have been saved. He died even before the ambulance got to him. It's high time we stop blaming the government and take some responsibility of our own.
