Toyota has recently launched its 2014 Corolla Altis in India. The Japanese automobile manufacturer has also introduced its Etios Cross, which is doing well in India. They have several products in India in different segments.
The most loved product in India from the stables of Japanese manufacturer is its MPV. Toyota's Innova is the most appreciated vehicle in India from the Japanese manufacturer. It is not surprising that the MPV has beaten its competitors with relative ease.
Toyota is working on revamping its Innova, which is expected to be launched in 2016, however, it will be showcased in 2015. The MPV has been caught testing both in India as well as Thailand. A few of the parts are manufactured in Thailand and imported to India.
The Japanese manufacturer is trying to localise several parts of its new Innova to lower prices. This will help making the MPV more desirable than even what it currently is. Toyota will be increasing its investment in India to increase localisation of parts and components.
The Japanese automobile giant is expected to provide its next generation Innova with a more frugal diesel mill. Toyota is also expected to offer an automatic option, witnessing the growing demand for it in India.
When launched, the 2015 Toyota Innova will compete in a competitive market. MPVs like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet's Enjoy will give the revamped Innova a definite tough time.
The Japanese automobile giant will introduce the Innova in 2015, however, it will be officially launched in 2016. Once launched Toyota is expected to price its MPV aggressively against its competitors. We expect the 2015 Innova range to be priced between INR 9,50,000 to INR 14,50,000 ex-showroom.
