Thane Gets Ten New Volvo 8400 City Buses

Swedish automobile manufacturer is known for building quality products. They are known for their cars as well as their buses, that are used all over the world. Their buses provide comfort and safety to occupants.

Volvo manufacturers city buses for various cities in India, however, this is the very first instance that Thane has ordered from them. The city of Thane have received their first lot of ten Volvo 8400 buses.

The Swedish manufacturer currently provides buses in over 16 cities of India. Thane, Maharashtra has ordered Volvo buses under their Urban Bus Specification II scheme. The manufacturer has several more orders to fulfill.

Volvo India has so far delivered over 1300 of their buses to 16 cities in India. Other cities like Mira-Bhayander, Kalyan-Dombivali and Assam are also among the first time buyers of Volvo buses, which mean quality of public transport will be improved.

Most cities are opting for Volvo buses to improve the quality of life within cities of India. The goal is to modernise public transport in India and Volvo is the way ahead. Public transport using Swedish manufactured buses are sure to attract citizens out of their private vehicles.

The 8400 City Bus by Volvo is built specifically to meet Urban Bus Specifications. It will offer a host of features like improved seats, wider wheelchair ramps, rear under-run protection, lateral protection, auto fire detection and suppression for engine bay.
