Mayank Pareek: Disappointed With Zest Delivery
Mayank Pareek, the recently appointed president for the passenger vehicle segment of Tata Motors is very disappointed with the delays in delivery with the Zest.
The recently launched sedan from Tata Motors, the Zest was introduced to take on rivals like the Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Xcent.
Some of the variants of the Zest have a long waiting period. The Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) variant of the Zest has gone up to six months of waiting.
Pareek said, "This is not the way. These are golden opportunities. We should supply to the customer just when he wants. Efforts are on to ramp up production as we also speak to vendors to up the supplies where there is a shortage."
Tata Motors has under-estimated the demand for particular variants. The company has taken all needed measures to ramp up its production for the Zest since they do not want to miss this golden opportunity.
Tata Motors was in a similar situation back in 2008 when it launched the Tata Nano.
Analysts say that the Zest can be a turn around for Tata if the production delay is sorted.
