By Ajinkya

The Czech Republic manufacturer of automobiles Skoda has decided to introduce the new Yeti SUV in India. They plan to launch the SUV somewhere in July, 2014. Skoda had showcased the 2014 Yeti at the 2014 Auto Expo, which was held in New Delhi.

Skoda had launched the Yeti in India a while ago. They did not upgrade or add new features to the vehicle. The Czech manufacturer will be refreshing the SUV to a great extent to make it more appealable to buyers.

Skoda is expected to provide the same engine trims that were available with the earlier generation model. The Czech manufacturer will provide all wheel drive along with front wheel drive. The Yeti all wheel drive will sport a 2.0-litre diesel mill. It will be capable of generating 320 Nm of peak torque along with a power output of 138 horsepower.

The Skoda Yeti front wheel drive will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine and will produce 250 Nm of peak torque and maximum power of 108 horsepower. The SUV by Skoda will not be available in a petrol option as the market prefers diesel powered SUV than petrol consuming engines.

Skoda will be refreshing the Yeti SUV and will be noticeably different from its earlier generation avatar. The 2014 Yeti will sport rectangular headlights along with bi-xenons, LED Daytime Running Lights, new fog lamp design and a new front grille.

The rear of Skoda Yeti gets new C-shaped tail lamps along with LED as an option, the tailgate will be redesigned for a better look. The 2014 Yeti SUV will be available in a wider range of colours. The Czech manufacturer will also provide the new SUV with better designed alloy wheels.

The interior of 2014 Skoda Yeti will be redesigned for a more luxurious and premium look as well as feel. The Czech manufacturer has been offering its new Yeti in international markets for a while. We expect Skoda to offer their new SUV at INR 17,00,000. This could cause a hassle as the newly formed government has decided to remove the subsidy on diesel.

Most buyers buy a diesel powered vehicle because it is cheaper to run. With Skoda not offering a petrol option this could work against the manufacturer. If diesel and petrol are on par in term of pricing, it will be interesting to see the reaction of buyers.
