Skoda Rapid To Get A Facelift
Skoda has recently introduced refreshed models of the Octavia and Superb. The also showcased their facelifted Yeti at the 2014 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida, Delhi.
Now there are rumors that the Czech automobile manufacturer is working on the current Rapid. The new model is expected to be revealed by the end of the year. If they refresh the Rapid, their entire lineup will be new and fresh.
Skoda believes it is important to offer the Indian market with current and fresh products as there is great potential in the ever-growing market. Thus, the Czech company is refreshing their entire offering in India.
The car manufacturer won't be making any mechanical changes to their Rapid. It will sport the same 1.6-litre diesel as well as 1.6-litre petrol. They both have the same 5-speed manual gearbox and power goes to the front wheels.
Skoda may offer an auto option, as there is a sudden rise in automatic vehicles in India. The Rapid automatic could get a 1.2-litre engine which will be turbocharged and sport a 7-speed DSG transmission.
The facelift will consist of exterior changes reminiscent of the new fascia treatment for Skoda cars. It will also get new bumpers along with redesigned headlights, bonnet and grille
Skoda could increase the price of their new Rapid and may also add more tech goodies in their Rapid sedan.
