Skoda India To Launch 2014 Yeti In September
Every manufacturer has realised the potential of Indian market and are getting international as well as India specific products. Skoda India has not launched any product in India recently. They had showcased its 2014 Yeti at the 2014 Auto Expo, which was held in Delhi.
Skoda had confirmed they would be launching the new Yeti in India in 2014 itself. It has been spied testing often in India and is slated to be launched in September. It will replace the previous generation Yeti available in India.
The Czech manufacturer will be getting to India the Euro spec Yeti, which was launched in Europe during 2013. The SUV will be feature rich and will have several creature comforts. Skoda plans to get the Euro spec Yeti to India as it is, making it more premium than the previous generation model.

Skoda will offer the 2014 Yeti only with a diesel engine. It will sport a 2.0-litre engine and will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, powering all four wheels. The four cylinder diesel mill will produce 108 horsepower, along with 250 Nm of peak torque.
The Czech manufacturer will provide a more powerful option with the same 2.0-litre engine. It will generate 138 horsepower, along with 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox and will also power all four wheels.

Since, Skoda will be getting the Euro spec model to India, we expect the price of the 2014 Yeti to be higher. In terms of pricing it will be on par with Mahindra's XUV500 and Renault Koleos. However, in terms of size it will compete with Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster. It somehow feels the Yeti will not fit right into any particular segment.
