Ssangyong’s Urban SUV Project X100 To Be Called Tivoli

Korean automobile manufacturer Ssangyong currently offers products in India with help from Mahindra. On offer currently is only their Rexton SUV by Ssangyong. They offer three models of their SUV RX5, RX6 and RX7 trims.

At a recent press meet Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., expressed that Ssangyong would be getting a new model to India by early 2015. He also confirmed it was project X100 that would be offered in India.

Yoo II Lee, CEO, Ssangyong Motor Company, has revealed the name of their project X100. The Urban SUV has been christened as ‘Tivoli'. The Korean manufacturer has been developing this vehicle for over three years now.

Ssangyong Tivoli will be launched in January, 2015 in Korea first. Mahindra is expected to get the Urban SUV to India soon after its launch in Korea. The manufacturer has not revealed their vehicle yet and has provided their final rendering of Tivoli.

The name Tivoli is of an Italian town close to Rome, it has a reputation for their style. Ssangyong decided to adopt this name to give their vehicle an international image. Ssangyong's Tivoli boasts of being the most stylish product from the manufacturer till date.

Ssangyong has worked extensively to improve quality and design of their vehicles. The Tivoli compact SUV is expected to be a trendsetter, wherever it will be offered. The Korean manufacturer is known as a specialist SUV brand around the globe.

The pricing and engine specifications have not been revealed by Ssangyong. More details will emerge at a date closer to the launch of Ssangyong's Tivoli compact SUV. It will be interesting to see, where Mahindra and Ssangyong place this vehicle in Indian market.
