Old Vehicles Have To Be Re-Registered
In latest news, vehicles which are more than 15 years old will have to undergo the registration process again if the owners want to avoid any action by the city police and the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
During a check conducted by the RTO on September 21, over 400 vehicles plying on roads of which around 278 motorcycles and cars were impounded for not having paid tax.
The RTO has generated a revenue of INR 5.18 lakh in taxes and INR 1.37 lakh as fine alone. There were 21 squads despatched to conduct vehicle checks throughout the city which included RTO inspectors.
The RTO officials have demanded vehicle owners to pay taxes and renew their vehicle registration if it has not been done yet.
