Porsche To Launch Macan In India By July 2014

The German luxury car manufacturer, Porsche first showcased its Macan SUV at the Beijing Motor Show. Since, then it has been among the highly anticipated vehicles for India. Now Porsche is expected to launch the luxury SUV Macan in India by July, 2014.

This is among the few vehicles by Porsche to sport a four-cylinder engine under the hood. The Porsche 968 was one of their vehicles that also sported a four cylinder mill. The India bound Macan will sport special wheels, badge and exhaust pipes and will look significantly different from the Macan S and Turbo variants.

The German engineers will provide Macan Turbo with a 3.6-litre engine capable of producing 400 horsepower and 550 Nm of peak torque. It will achieve a top speed 266 km/h and will sprint from o to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

The Macan S will be powered by a 3.0-litre mill and will generate 580 Nm of peak torque along with 260 horsepower. The machine will accelerate from o to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The German built SUV will attain top speed in the range of 230 km/h.

Porsche will provide its vehicles with a sole all-wheel-drive option. The interiors of the vehicle will be premium and luxurious. The new car will compete in India against competitors from BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Land Rover.

The German manufacturer will launch its luxury SUV in India by July, 2014. Porsche has not confirmed pricing details of its Macan and will reveal them at only during launch time. We, however, believe the Macan in India will cost in the range of INR 75,00,000 to INR 85,00,000.
