Porsche Macan Confirmed For India
Porsche will be introducing their luxury SUV, the Macan in India. The younger sibling to the larger Cayenne, the Macan will be launched in June.
The Macan will face competition from BMW, Range Rover as well as Audi. Porsche will offer both a petrol as well as a diesel engine. The launch has been delayed, owing to present Indian government policies. Porsche is hoping for certain policy changes, that will benefit imports.
Porsche will get the Macan to India through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. The budget and Indian policies will play a major role in pricing.
Porsche will offer the Macan Turbo with a 3.6-litre, six-cylinder engine. It will produce 405 PS of power and 550Nm of peak torque. It will sport a seven-speed PDK system, facilitating a top speed of 266 km/hr. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/hr in as little as 4.8 seconds.
The Macan will be equipped with a host of features aiding off-road entertainment. It will feature Torque Vectoring , Active Suspension Management, Wheel & Tyre Pressure Monitoring system, Porsche Stability Management along with Hill Descent Control.
Porsche will manufacture the Macan from its facility in Leipzig. Porsche explains their car will offer premium luxury along with state-of-the-art technology. These two factors will justify their prices, so believe Porsche.
