Only Few Porsche 918 Spyders Left
According to Andre Oosthuizen, vice president of marketing for Porsche's North American arm, only a few more units of the Porsche 918 Spyder are available. The limited-edition hypercar is almost sold out.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is a limited-edition hypercar from the Porsche stable. Only 918 units will be made.
The McLaren P1 and the LaFerrari are also limited-edition hypercars, but they are limited to a smaller number. The P1 will have just 375 units made and the LaFerrari, only 499 units.
The Porsche Spyder is the only open-top of the three. Powering this car is a conventional 4.6-litre, V8 engine and two electric motors. This hybrid combination produces 887 hp.
The Spyder holds the official record in Nürburgring for a production car, with a lap time of only 6:57 and it can attain 100 km/h from standstill in under 2.7 seconds. The car reaches a top speed of 210 mph or 340 km/h.
The production of the Spyder started on the 18th of September, 2013 and the first few units were delivered early this year.
The car retails for USD 847,975 (INR 5.18 Crore), which is inclusive of delivery and Porsche wants buyers to place a USD 200,000 (INR 1.22 Crore) deposit before building the car. Most of the cars have been bought by customers in the U.S.
