Many automakers have teamed up with their competition to build cars. It is a known fact that sharing a platform or coming together to build a car can save loads of money. However, not many have done that in the electric vehicle department.
There is now a possibility that Indian manufacturer Mahindra REVA will team up with Japanese car manufacturer Nissan.
Mahindra manufactures the e2o in India with REVA. Nissan has been developing and producing their electric vehicle called Leaf; however, it is not on sale in India.

Nissan currently works and aids other automobile manufacturers. A few of them are Honda, Toyota as well as Mitsubishi, they believe it is best for business that everyone works together.
Mahindra REVA plans to sell their electric vehicles globally. They have so far build their car without any help, in-house. It would be great if they would join with Nissan, who have knowledge in electric vehicles.
Nissan is currently looking to partner with a company to increase the charging points over the country. The Japanese automobile manufacturer believes, every country has to make an effort to set up more charging stations. This can be done only with the help of local government agencies.
India too will have to work on installing more charging stations or else the cars won't make sense. It is the only way owning an electric vehicle could work.
Nissan and Mahindra REVA currently sell their electric vehicles in Bhutan. They are locked in tough competition over there. However, it would be in best interest if both could collaborate working on electric vehicles.
Mahindra and Nissan both have shown intentions to come together and help each other. We will now have to wait till they officially announce their union.
