Nissan Evalia To Get A Facelift At Auto Expo 2014
It might come as a surprise to many Indians that Nissan Evalia, sold internationally as the NV200, is a very popular. That's because the Evalia has been largely ignored by the Indian buyer ever since its launch in late 2012. For some reason this well designed and versatile van has failed to take off here. Perhaps because it is a van. Afterall, how many Indian families do we see driving vans?
Nevertheless, Nissan is not ready to give by just yet. The Japanese automaker gave the Evalia its first refresh within a year of of its launch, in October last year, when it rectified several of its design features that was known to have not gone down well with buyers here.
Hence, the butterfly windows at the rear gave way to sliders and the center row got captain style seats. But as we can see that has not been enough to arouse interest in the Evalia among potential buyers. So, Nissan will give it another try. This time, by relaunching the van with more changes.
These changes are expected to come in the form of a new front fascia, new standard features such as passenger compartment AC vents etc,.
"We are working to penetrate into the customer's mind and convince him/her that Evalia is a very comfortable and affordable good car," said Kenichi Yomura, president & CEO, Nissan Motor India, speaking to Autocar Professional.
As a buyer why do you think the Evalia is not doing well? Would you buy it if the refreshed design appeals to you? Let us known in the comments section below.
