New Maruti Alto Model To Be Introduced - Rumour
Rumour has it that Maruti Suzuki will introduce a new Alto model that will be placed between the original Alto and the Alto K10.
The said new model would be powered by the K10's 1.0-litre engine, but will have fewer features and thus, will cost less. It will be differentiated by a few cosmetic changes such as revised headlamp, taillamps, body graphics, along with an updated interior.

In terms of pricing, the new model would definitely be placed below the K10 model, but it remains to be seen whether it will be less or more expensive than the contemporary Alto 800.
The K10 engine is a 4-cylinder, 16 valve unit, rated at 68 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. The engine would be coupled to the standard 5-speed transmission.
As far as AMT is concerned, the Alto K10 is most likely be the recipient of the modern transmission technology.
Sure, this would mean a lot of overlapping pricing between the three variants, but it would also mean more choice for buyers, which is the only thing that matters in the end.
