More Sparks To Fly In Formula One
If you are a Formula One fan, you must have noticed certain cars letting off sparks as they go ahead. The sparks have been flying of the car sometimes even when they are going on a long straight. It was earlier thought that the floor of the Formula One car was touching the asphalt.
The FIA has come out saying these are skid blocks and they will be compulsory on all cars from next season. The governing body was soon to admit they are not introducing titanium skid blocks to create more sparks by cars. The FIA will be introducing several other changes for the 2015 season.
The Formula One skids were earlier made up of heavy metals, if these metals come off during an incident it could be dangerous. There have been several instances when these metal skids have broken and caused punctures. The introduction of titanium, offers more strength with less use of metal, thus decreasing certain possibilities.

Many believe that the FIA is making it compulsory for manufacturers to use titanium skids to recreate old magic. During the 80s many cars created so much downforce that almost all of them would create sparks and highlighted the era. FIA officials are being blamed that they are introducing these elements in an attempt to make the sport interesting again.
The FIA official explain that the titanium component will wear even quicker than the current metal used. This will make team's make their cars higher than where they currently sit. This will have them change their aerodynamic package thus levelling the field. Mainly it will introduce more sparks in next years Formula One Championship.
