Their plan is to bring its E400 Cabriolet, which was previously sold as a coupe as well as a convertible model. Mercedes-Benz India is expected to launch its Cabriolet early next year, however, it will be post the launch of their CLA-Class.
The speciality of this vehicle is its retractable soft roof. Mercedes-benz has made it possible for the roof to go down even at speed of 40 km/h. They have not compromised on creature comfort and provide wind deflectors and an air cap to provide utmost comfort to passengers.
It is unclear which, engine will be under the bonnet of the upcoming E400 Cabriolet. We believe it will be the engine doing duty in United States of America.
Petrol powered 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6, which will produce 329 horsepower, along with 480 Nm of peak torque.
This engine is capable of attaining top speeds of 250 km/h, which is electronically restricted. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which helps the Cabriolet to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
Mercedes-Benz E400 Cabriolet will be offered in India as a Completely Built Unit(CBU). We believe this vehicle will be priced around INR 80,00,000 to INR 90,00,000 ex-showroom. The E-Class is assembled in India and if demand for Cabriolet is high they will assemble it too.
