Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Launch Date Confirmed For India

German luxury automobile manufacturer has accounted for a successful year in India. Mercedes-Benz has definitely launched the most products in India during 2014. Its compatriots have tried hard to keep up with Mercedes-Benz.

They will be resuming their product launch for 2015 in a big way. The very first launch from Mercedes-Benz stable will be their compact sedan. The German manufacturer had showcased this vehicle at 2014 Auto Expo.

Mercedes-Benz India had for the very first time launched its performance oriented vehicle prior to its regular model. The CLA45 AMG has been an instant hit in India and they have already been sold out for the year.

Now the ‘Three Pointed Star' would be offering its regular CLA-Class in India from 22nd of January, 2015. The vehicle is based on Mercedes-Benz's MFA platform, which has given birth to the A-Class, B-Class and the recently launched GLA-Class.

The CLA-Class will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines.

• The petrol powered CLA-Class gets a 2.0-litre engine, which will produce 181 BHP, along with 300 Nm of peak torque.
• The CLA-Class also will be offered with a diesel 2.2-litre mill, it will generate 134 BHP, along with 300 Nm of peak torque.

Both petrol and diesel engines in the CLA-Class will be paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which will power the front wheels.

The German manufacturer will be offering its CLA-Class in India as a Completely Built Unit(CBU). We believe the new compact sedan will be priced competitively at around INR 25,00,000 to INR 30,00,000 ex-showroom. Mercedes-Benz plans to commence local assembly of certain vehicles by 2015 end, thus enabling lower costs.
