McLaren P1 GTR Sketch Revealed Prior To Debut

The P1 GTR by McLaren is set for its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2014. It is going to be showcased as a concept and is a track focused model. However, if you cannot wait to see what the supercar will look like we have a sketch waiting for you.

The P1 GTR will be available in limited numbers. McLaren plans to begin production as soon as they complete manufacturing 375 units of the original P1. The vehicle will have no restrictions as it is a track version. McLaren claims the P1 GTR will have better grip, performance, aerodynamics and downforce compared to the street legal version.

The P1 GTR by McLaren will take design as well as engineering cues from their 50 years of race knowledge. It will have a mix of technology from experience in Formula One to the 24 Hours of Le Mans challenge. The individuals working on the car have also laid hands on their motorsport projects.

From what we can make out in the sketch is the supercar is radical looking. It sports a huge rear spoiler, along with a rear diffuser. It has an enormous exhaust, which looks like a straight pipe. The main focus is paid to the aerodynamics and it is clearly evident in the design work.

The P1 GTR by McLaren will sport the same engine that powers the P1. It is a 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo engine. The P1 by McLaren extracts 887 horsepower from the mean machine, however, the P1 GTR will squeeze a massive 985 horsepower from the same mill.

The P1 GTR by McLaren will make its official debut on the 15th of August, 2014. The covers will come off at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event. The manufacturer has not confirmed how many units will they be manufacturing, but the P1 GTR will certainly be exclusive and tailor made for its owner.
