McLaren 650S GT3 Teased; Reveal At Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014
McLaren has released a teaser image of the new GT car it said it would reveal on June 27th at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014. Turns out this new GT is the hardcore track version of the newly introduced McLaren 650S.
The McLaren 650S was launched earlier this year as a replacement to the 12C, which it discontinued promptly. As can be expected from a GT car, the McLaren 650S GT3 comes with all the typical track based armament.
The image reveals an oversized fixed rear wing, Pirelli sticky tyres and side skirts and front splitter. The teaser image also reveals Mobil 1 and Tag Heuer decals.
Besides the 650S GT3, McLaren will also be bringing a few other special models to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including a one-off McLaren 650S developed by McLaren Special Operations and the M7C; the car with which McLaren founder Bruce took three podium finishes during the 1969 Formula 1 season.
Next year, marking the 20th anniversary of the McLaren F1 GTR's 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, the British company will be bringing out the McLaren P1 GTR, which is expected to be become the most powerful hybrid supercar till date.
The McLaren P1 GTR will come with nearly 1000 horsepower and will carry a price tag of $3.36 million.
