Maruti Suzuki Factories Shut Down For Maintenance

Automobile giant Maruti Suzuki is the largest four-wheeler manufacturer in India. The automaker has six plants across India between Gurgaon and Manesar - Maruti will be shutting down all six plants temporarily.

There is no need to worry Maruti Suzuki is not packing up and leaving. The shutdown is for maintenance of the factories and will take place over a period of eight days in June. The Japanese manufacturer is particular on organising its inventory and this is one of the ways to do it efficiently.

Maruti Suzuki currently manufactures 5,000 units per day. However, they have witnessed a flat line in terms of sales of its vehicles in this fiscal half. The Japanese car maker will be closing down its factories from 22nd June to 29th June.

Maruti Suzuki is the largest manufacturer and seller of four wheelers in India. The Celerio hatchback by the manufacturer is doing good, however, other vehicles in its portfolio have not been selling very well. We recently reported the Japanese manufacturer will be launching six new products in India.

The Japanese manufacturer is betting high on its new products. The new products will fit into the six to twelve lakh price bracket. It has been noticed Maruti Suzuki has not done well with premium or luxurious car in the Indian market. On the other hand the affordable automobiles have been working out well for the manufacturer.

The Finance Minister of India has announced that excise duty benefits will continue till the end of this year. Automobile manufacturers are pleased with the announcement and plan to make the most of it. Maruti Suzuki will also hope it can turn around and improve sales soon.
