Maruti Suzuki Dealers Commence Booking Of 2014 Swift
Japanese automobile giant and leader of the Indian four-wheeler segment in terms of sales, Maruti Suzuki has a wide range of products in India. This year the manufacturer has launched only two products, the Ciaz sedan and Celerio hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki's top seller for several years now has been their hot hatch the ‘Swift'. Over the years they have not changed the essence of their hatchback. They have refreshed the model to match with current times. In 2014 as well, they will provide a minor cosmetic upgrade to the Swift.
Dealers have commenced bookings for the 2014 Swift for a token amount of INR 25,000. The hatchback is scheduled to be launched in November, 2014, though exact date has not been revealed as of now. The refreshed model is expected to be similar to Suzuki Swift on offer in UK.
The 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be powered by a petrol as well as a diesel engine option. The diesel powered hatchback sports a 1.3-litre MULTIJET mill. The petrol engine is a frugal 1.2-litre K-Series engine. These are the same engines present in current Swift models.
They will be offering similar gearbox options as well, however, there are possibilities of offering an automatic transmission. The headlight and tail lamps won't receive an upgrade, however, an addition of Daytime Running Lights will make its appearance beside the fog lamps.
The interior of 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be where all major changes will have taken place. The refreshed hatchback will sport keyless entry with push button start, auto closing ORVMs, rear parking sensors and a music system with Bluetooth connectivity.
Maruti Suzuki 2014 Swift will compete with Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto Evo, Toyota Etios Liva, Hyundai Elite i20 and Nissan Micra. All these hatchbacks have been priced competitively and the Swift too will have to priced attractively.
