Made In India Ford EcoSport Going To Germany
The EcoSport has grown it's fan following even in distant places. However, this time it isn't going to far and will be making its debut in Germany. The great news by Ford is that this compact SUV will be made in India and exported to European countries.
Ford will commence exports of their multiple award winning EcoSport to European countries from June 2014 onwards. It will first be made available in Germany and gradually launches will commence in Austria, Switzerland and UK.
The American based car manufacturer will add a few parts to the European spec EcoSport. Their first introduction will be a more rigid structure and a few other components will be modified. EcoSport will have 300 additional parts compared to the Indian variant.
Ford will manufacture the European Spec EcoSport from its Chennai facility. It will be added with more safety features to meet the European safety standards. EcoSport has received a 4-star Euro NCAP rating; however, the new additions will help it get a better score and will be even safer than before.
Ford will provide the EcoSport with the same front wheel drive and won't have an optional four wheel drive system. The Urban SUV will be aimed at new and youth buyers, 30-45 age group.
Ford is still struggling with manufacturing the EcoSport, due to the huge domestic demand. The EcoSport has broken all previous record of any car winning awards. It is has amassed most awards since its launch a year ago.
