Land Rover is a famous British automobile brand, it was founded in 1948. It's headquarters are at Whitley, Coventry, United Kingdom. It is one of the oldest four wheel drive vehicle manufacturer, Jeep is the oldest before it.
The very first four wheel drive vehicle by Land Rover was designed by Maurice Wilks back in 1947 at his farm. He was the chief designer for Rover Company and was inspired by the Jeep that was used in World War 2 by the American soldiers.
Since its inception Land Rover has been owned by several companies. However, currently it is owned by Indian automobile giant Tata Motors. The Indian manufacturer acquired the British marquee in 2008 from its previous owners Ford.
Land Rover has been teasing the world with videos and images of its latest Discover Sport. They had recently announced their new Brand Ambassador, survival expert Bear Grylls. The new vehicle is based on the Freelander, which was launched roughly 17 years ago. They have revamped the vehicle and have given it a new name 'Land Rover Discovery Sport'.

The new Discovery Sport by Land Rover has a bold and aggressive front. The Discovery badging in the front is prominent and cannot be missed. Land Rover logo has been hidden in the chrome grille, which is nice and small. The LED Daytime Running Lights have a new design and give the SUV more character. It gets a skid plate in front to protect the engine from off road elements. The foglamps have been placed high on the vehicles huge bumper.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport looks stylish and muscular from the side. However, the vehicle does not bulky or massively huge. The British manufacturer have provided trendy looking alloy wheels. The engineers have worked together to provide superior cabin space and provide a 5+2 seating arrangement.

The rear end of Land Rover's Discovery Sport has very little going on, which is nice for a change. They have done an excellent job of replicating the LED ring from the front to the brake light behind. It has a large back window that provides excellent vision. The dashboard gets a clean look with all gadgets and equipment in easy reach of the driver. The steering wheel is big and has a few buttons on them. Land Rover will provide its Discovery Sport SD4 variant with a 2.2-litre, turbodiesel engine. It will feature high pressure direct injection along with start stop function. It will produce 187.32 horsepower and is mated to an optional 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The SD model costs INR 32,30,754 in UK. The eD4 model specs have not been revealed, however, its pricing has been set at INR 29,91,900.
