Jaguar's Virtual Windscreen Helps You Drive Faster
Tata Motors owned Jaguar Land Rover has showcased its new technology that would help drivers improve their fast driving. The British marque has developed a virtual windscreen to enhance performance driving and reduce distraction. It will be mainly used for track driving and can improve road driving too.
Jaguar Land Rover has also revealed a video of their technology in action. We have the demo video for you below, so make sure you take a look at the innovative new technology. The British automobile manufacturer claims that the system will reduce distractions while driving on everyday streets.
Currently the new system by Jaguar Land Rover has three modes. The first displays the best racing line along with braking references. The second mode provides a ghost car that can be followed to improve lap times and racing lines; it offers your previous lap as reference to improve driving.

The third mode by Jaguar Land Rover's system creates virtual cones to create a course that improves the drivers cornering and turning. All these will be projected on the windscreen and will look like a video game, however, it will help Jaguar Land Rover owners improve their driving experience considerably.
Dr Wolfgang Epple, Director of Research and Technology for Jaguar Land Rover, explains, "We are working on research projects that will give the driver better information to enhance the driving experience. By presenting the highest quality imagery possible, a driver need only look at a display once."
He further added, "Showing virtual images that allow the driver to accurately judge speed and distance will enable better decision-making and offer real benefits for everyday driving on the road, or the track."
Jaguar Land Rover has not given a time frame as to when this technology will be available in their vehicles. The Virtual Windscreen is realistic and at times you would feel you are really racing another vehicle or competing in a video game. Have a watch of the demo video below, and let us know what you think about the new technology.
