British iconic luxury automobile manufacturer Jaguar is revealing in parts the technology and features that will be put into its XE. Jaguar plan to launch its XE saloon globally on 8th September, 2014. The XE will be launched at an exclusive event held in London.
Jaguar Land Rover has currently revealed details and information regarding the infotainment within Jaguar XE. The saloon will feature an 8-inch touch screen infotainment with voice control option. The system will be capable of controlling several functions from the screen.
Jaguar Land Rover will be introducing an industry first feature in its XE saloon. The vehicle will sport a laser Head-Up Display, which will project images on to the windscreen. The manufacturer has broadly named features within the vehicle cabin as InControl.
Dr Mike Bell, Jaguar's Global Connected Car Director explains, "In-car technologies in this ever-more connected and fast-paced world are an integral part of your driving experience. With the all-new XE we're introducing an entire suite of cutting-edge driver aids and entertainment systems."
He further added, "Designed and developed from scratch, they will ensure that every journey you take is simpler, more relaxing, safer, and effortlessly enjoyable."
Other features include the InControl remote, this feature connects the mobile phones with the system. Owners can lock/unlock doors, access climate control settings, locating the vehicle in parking lots and even starting the vehicle.
The Jaguar XE will also support InControl Apps, which will enable the vehicle owner to gain control of mobile apps from the touch screen in the saloon. The vehicle will also sport a WiFi hotspot for its occupants to always be connected to the internet. These features will enable owners to book hotels, flights and practically everything from their Jaguar XE itself.
