Jaguar Performance Cars Not To Be Turbocharged
The current market trend is to provide cars with turbochargers. This trend is even growing into performance car segment. We have reported rumors of Ferrari switching to a turbocharged engine. However, the British icon Jaguar has other plans.
Jaguar is currently going through a transformation both design and performance wise. The main question though is will they too opt to turbocharging their engines as most are willing to do.
The British icon has asserted it won't be introducing its performance cars with a turbocharged engine. The same cannot be said about its normal passenger cars. Their vision is clear and will be sticking to naturally aspirated engines.
The British manufacturer of luxury and supercars, Jaguar explains turbocharging is good; however, a sports car does not need the torque generated from a turbocharged engine.
Jaguar has confirmed their cars, specially their performance cars will not have a turbocharged engine. They are strictly concentrating on supercharged engines. They believe the power generated in a supercharged engine feels more like an engine that breathes naturally.
It is evident that supercharged engines aren't as efficient as the turbocharged engines. However, Jaguar have established their stand to produce supercharged engines as long as possible.
Jaguar have not ruled out the possibility of switching to a turbocharged engine in the future. That could be due to new emission norms, which would force them to switch over from supercharged engines.
