Hyundai India Records 40,000 Bookings Of Elite i20 In 2 Months

Hyundai has recently launched its Elite i20 in India, we had earlier reported they had achieved over 12,000 booking in a matter of weeks. Now the South Korean manufacturer has more good news to share with us regarding their premium hatchback.

The South Korean manufacturer had launched its Elite i20 roughly two months ago. Hyundai now claim they have received in excess of 40,000 bookings in India alone. They have also received several inquiries prior and post the launch of their hatchback.

Hyundai India has launched its Elite i20 with both petrol and diesel engine options. The premium hatchback was launched at a base price of INR 4,90,000 ex-showroom, Delhi. It is significantly expensive than its predecessor and the Elite has more features over the previous model.

Maruti Suzuki has just launched its 2014 refreshed Swift hatchback in India, which has been priced at INR 4,42,00 ex-showroom, Delhi. It competes head on with Hyundai's Elite i20 and now after the update we will have to wait and see which vehicle buyers choose.

The earlier generation i20 by Hyundai managed to rack up roughly 4,000 vehicle sales every month. The Elite i20 has already broken most records set by its predecessor. Though the new model is more expensive, people have perhaps taken a liking to the bold styling of this premium hatchback, and it reflects in sales.

Hyundai will be soon introducing its Elite i20 in international markets as well. They had earlier revealed sketches of a coupe model exclusive for European markets. The South-Korean manufacturer will also provide a bigger engine for international markets.
