Hyundai i20 2014 Model Launching On 15th Of August

South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai will be introducing a refreshed variant of its i20 hatchback. They currently plan to launch the 2014 model of i20 in India on the 15th of August, 2014. Their new hatchback will be available in both petrol as well as diesel engine options.

The 2014 version of Hyundai i20 is expected to borrow design cues and elements from the European model. The hatchback will also sport more chrome embellishment to cater to the Indian market. Hyundai is expected to price their 2014 i20 a bit more expensive than its previous generation.

Hyundai will provide the 2014 i20 with redesigned headlamps, front and rear bumpers. It will also get a spoiler in the rear, new foglamps and turn signals integrated into the ORVMs. The new i20 will look even more premium and luxurious than the outgoing model.

Hyundai India will provide the 2014 i20 with a 1.2-litre Kappa engine. The petrol powered engine will generate 114 Nm of peak torque, along with a maximum power output of 83 PS. It will be mated to a manual gearbox and there could be an optional automatic transmission on offer too.

There will also be a diesel variant of the 2014 i20 available by Hyundai. It will sport a 1.4-litre engine and will produce 220 Nm of peak torque with a maximum power of 90 PS. The engine will be paired to a manual transmission, it is not sure if an automatic variant will be available with the diesel engine.

The 2014 Hyundai i20 will compete against the likes of Fiat Punto Evo, Volkswagen Polo range, Honda Jazz and Maruti Suzuki Swift. Hyundai will pack its hatchback with current technology and equipment within the cabin. Price of the new i20 will be revealed at a time more closer to the launch.
