Honda Mobilio is a seven seater compact MPV that falls in the same category as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The Mobilio is based on the Brio hatchback platform and looks similar to the small car to an extent looking at from the front. We expect Honda to give its MPV a comparatively premium feel and look, inside and out to make it stand apart from the Ertiga.
Honda is likely to choose the new City sedan's engines to power the Mobilio. The 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol rated at 116 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, and the 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine rated at 97 bhp and 200 Nm of torque.
A 5-speed manual (instead of the 6-speed manual from the City diesel) and a 7-speed CVT transmission options are expected to be offered for the Mobilio.
Honda Mobilio is likely to be priced from INR 5.90 lakhs onwards. View the Honda Mobilio preview video below.
