Japanese automobile giant Honda is one of the most sought after brands across the globe. They have updated their product portfolio on a regular basis and know what to offer their customers. Honda rarely disappoints its customers, it has and will provide customer friendly vehicles.
Currently every manufacturer is trying to exploit new segments and market across the world. The compact SUV is one of the fastest growing segment in many developing markets. Every manufacturer is contemplating of launching their product in this thriving market.
Honda too have been working to exploit this segment and introduced the world to their compact SUV. The Japanese manufacturer has christened its vehicle ‘HR-V', it draws inspiration from its full-sized sibling the CR-V.
Leon Brannan, Head of Car, explained, "The HR-V is a very welcome addition to our current model line up, it is a very popular and growing market segment that appeals to both retail and corporate customers."
The HR-V by Honda will first be launched in European countries by mid 2015. It is still in prototype phase, however, the Japanese manufacturer claims it will soon commence production models. They claim their vehicle will be on sale in other markets by late 2015.
The HR-V will sport Honda Magic Seats which, will enable more seating space for occupants. The second row of seats can be folded down to maximise cargo/luggage space. The Japanese manufacturer will provide a centre fuel tank to create a more spacious compact SUV.
Honda will be bringing its HR-V to India, however, they have not confirmed a timeline for it. We expect it to be priced competitively against segment leaders Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport. Honda's compact SUV will also have to fend off competition from Nissan Terrano and Suzuki's soon to be launched Vitara as well.
