Modi Says Highways Need To Be Fun
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the Indian highways need to be more fun and pleasurable to drive on for those who drive long distances. He has asked the highway officials to provide more roadside facilities.
He has asked the officials to provide more amenities along Indian highways and said that there should be no compromises in terms of quality.

Modi has asked officials to provide amenities like good resting places, eating joints and other such conveniences to make journeys happier and less tiring.
The NHAI have identified many such areas which need development so far but have done nothing yet. Nitin Gadkari, the transport minister has already announced that he will work towards developing the infrastructure with regards to roads and will help in the growth of India's GDP.
This year, the Highway Ministry has set a target of constructing 6,500 kms of roads. Modi had asked the Finance Ministry to give more power to the Highways Ministry to approve projects that are pending and that involve higher investments.
At present, the ministry can approve projects that are worth INR 500 crore as investment.
