Globally One Million Dusters Sold
The Duster has been onsale since four years now. The compact SUV from Renault has achieved a record, one million sales since the car was made available. Renault and Dacia sell the car as Duster and their combined sales globally have achieved the feat.
Renault rolled out their one millionth Duster from their Curitiba facility in Brazil. The milestone car will be sold in Brazil itself to some lucky customer.
The French manufacturer produces its Duster compact SUV in five factories across the Globe. They sell their cars under Renault and Dacia brand in over 100 countries.
Arnaud Deboeuf, the Renault Group's Entry Programme Director, explains "With Renault branding, it perfectly meets the demands of our international customers and is contributing to Renault's expansion in emerging markets."
He further added,"Duster is a truly global success story."
Renault currently setup a facility in Chennai, India. This factory was set up in 2013 and was the last by Renault. This was mainly done to cope with the demand in India for the Duster.
The Indian plant also provided Duster's for South Africa as well as Indonesia. It was branded as Dacia and exported to UK, Ireland, Malta and Cyprus.
The Duster has played an important role in growth of Renault as a brand. It has been reported as the best selling car from the French manufacturer globally.
"The Dacia-badged version sold in Europe and our Mediterranean Basin markets has succeeded in attracting a new clientele to the brand thanks to the styling and genuine all-terrain capability it delivers for an affordable price. Duster is definitely a model that is winning us new customers," says Renault officials.
India too has been a key player in the success of the Duster. Renault has sold many cars and will be getting a facelifted version for Indian customers soon to reignite the spark it had created when it launched.
