Formula One 2014 China GP Result
The Formula One Chinese Grand Prix was a mixed bag of surprises with Ferrari showing good pace. It was later followed by a rain soaked Qualifying that saw Lewis Hamilton dominate the leader board and secure pole position once again.
The race was spectacular with Lewis Hamilton winning the race from Pole position and with a certain ease in his perfectly set up Mercedes AMG Petronas. Team mate Nico Rosberg did not achieve a great start and dropped down to seventh position.
The German's race was ruined as he had to fight his way back to the top spot, this would be no easy task as he would face the likes Of Ferrari, Red Bull as well as Williams. Rosberg steadily recovered positions and finished the race in second place, almost 18 seconds behind Hamilton.
Scuderia Ferrari had a mixed result with Fernando finishing on the podium in third place. He seemed happy that his car was working a bit better than how it was a few races ago. The Spaniard drove impressively for a well-deserved third place and we can expect better results in the next races.
Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen struggled with his car and could only manage eighth position. The Finn's overall pace was slower than Alonso's and he could not find the right setup for this weekend.
The powerful Red Bull Racing-Renault duo Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo, finished in fifth and fourth position respectively. Vettel was once again asked to move over and let the Australian go ahead - it was a good move as he came very close to Alonso in third.
Force India had a decent run and the secured sixth and ninth place. They were expecting to as their car was performing well in the previous race, and both cars finished in point scoring positions.
The next race will be held in Catalunya, Spain on the 11th of May, 2014. The teams now have a few days to relax and prepare for the next race. Everyone's eyes will be on the Spanish Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso in his home race.
