Ford Launches Innovate Mobility Challenge Series
Ford has announced the launch of its 'Innovate Mobility Challenge Series'. The American based automobile manufacturer has launched the challenge series in eight parts of the world. In India the series will commence in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai.
Ford will also hold its Mobility Challenge Series in Lisbon, Portugal; Los Angeles, United States; Johannesburg, South Africa; Shanghai, China and Argentina as a whole. The challenge series has begun from the 15th of July, 2014 in all the eight countries.
Paul Mascarenas, Ford's chief technical officer and vice president, Research and Innovation, expressed, "Reaching out to local stakeholders lets Ford more effectively address the diverse mobility challenges around the world."
He further added, "Launching our Innovate Mobility Challenge Series in eight different regions will bring global and local players together in the pursuit of one goal, which is a smarter and more efficient transportation network for the future."

Ford will provide a prize of USD 30,000 for Mumbai, Lisbon and Los Angeles for each competition. There will be three competitions to find the winner of 'Innovate Mobility Challenge Series'. The overall grand prize will be USD 15,000 per winner. The other prizes will be announced at a later date.

Chennai will have the challenge of preparing a health service that connects the rural and remote accessible areas of Chennai. They call it the SUMMUR mHealth Challenge and has projects have to be submitted between 30th July and 20th October.
The Delhi challenge is being called 'SUMMUR Golden Hour Challenge'. They will have to develop a software to reduce the time it takes to get medical help in critical situations. Delhi submissions will be held between 30th July and 30th October.
Mumbai has the challenge of preparing a 'Monsoon App Downpour Challenge'. This will help in combatting the monsoon season that can cripple transportation. The app has to be submitted between 15th July to 14th October. Ford will announce the India winners in November, so do take part as there is loads to win.
