Ford Fiesta EcoBoost 1.0 Launched In Malaysia
The Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost has now reached Malaysian shores. The new car is only available in one hatchback variant and is priced at RM 99,588 on the road minus insurance (INR 1,846,320) and is available in Artic White, Panther Red and True White.
Current news is that the new Ford Fiesta for India will feature only a diesel engine, but it is unclear whether India will eventually get the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Driving enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting news though, no doubt. The award winning tiny three-cylinder petrol engine (Engine of the Year in 2012 and 2013) features great fuel economy yet provides impressive power.
The Ecoboost GDI unit makes 125 PS at 6,000 rpm and 170 Nm at 1,400 to 4,500 rpm, while a PowerShift six-speed dual-clutch transmission does gearbox duties in the Malaysian-spec car. India will receive a more conventional 5-speeder, however.
The Malaysian Fiesta also gets a full bodykit with splitter-mounted daytime runners and seven airbags, as compared to the 1.5-litre version's two. In addition, the Fiesta features EcoBoost decals on the bonnets and sides of the car.
