Ford has officially revealed it has commenced testing of a right hand drive Mustang. This is the first time the manufacturer is preparing a right hand drive version of its iconic Mustang. They are working on the 2015 Mustang with a prototype right hand drive version.
The American based manufacturer has announced its 2015 Mustang will be launched in 25 countries. These are countries that use right hand drive vehicles, instead of left hand drive vehicles as available in America. Ford wants to expand its reach of the Mustang brand across the globe.
Currently Ford offers its Mustang in markets like Africa, America and European countries. They have never offered the vehicle ever in markets that use right hand drive vehicles. The American manufacturer plans to introduce its 2015 Mustang in over 120 markets.
The 2015 Mustang is planned to go on sale in markets like Australia, South Africa and United Kingdom. Ford also plans to launch it in several other developing markets. India is a growing market and Ford has a strong presence and the iconic car will fit right in.
Ford will launch its 2015 Mustang with the following engine choices.
- 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine.
- 5.0-litre V8 engine.
- 3.7-litre V6 engine.
The American automobile giant will manufacturer its left and right hand drive Mustang from its Flat Rock, Michigan facility. The engines will be mated to an optional 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
