Ford Celebrates Selling 1,00,000 EcoSports In India

Ford India has achieved a milestone of selling 1,00,000 units of EcoSport from India alone. These figures include domestic as well as export vehicles by the American manufacturer. Ford has over 60,000 EcoSport currently running on Indian roads.

The EcoSport from Ford is its most successful product in Indian market. The compact SUV is manufactured at its Chennai facility.

In the previous month Ford India announced it will be increasing its manufacturing output to meet demands. Since its launch the EcoSport has been popular among Indians and now the manufacturer has reduced its waiting period for its popular compact SUV.

Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director for Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, expressed, "The 100,000 milestone is indeed special to all of us at Ford and further demonstrates the faith customers have in the product. The demand for Ford EcoSport continues to be extremely strong."

He also said, "We have diligently worked with our suppliers to significantly reduce the waiting period for most variants of the Ford EcoSport to meet this demand. With improved availability, we are also planning to introduce a third shift at our Chennai plant to ensure that the Ford EcoSport is available across our showrooms, ahead of the upcoming festive season."

The made-in-India EcoSport has won over 30 auto related awards since its launch. Ford exports its compact SUV to countries like Australia, European countries, South Africa and Taiwan. Ford India is proving to the world that India is an excellent manufacturing hub. It is a great achievement for a vehicle so new to recieve this many awards in such a short period.
