Datsun Will Not Cross Badge With Renault
Datsun recently launched their first offering to Indian citizens in the form of GO! The have been excellent at pricing the car aggressively and have a good product in their hand.
The Japanese manufacturer now reports it won't cross badge it's vehicles with their partner Renault. Datsun which is part of Nissan, shares car platforms with the French manufacturer.
Ajay Raguvanshi, vice-president of business development for Nissan Motor explained, that Datsun will not cross badge its vehicle with Renault and vice-versa.
Nissan and Renault have been cross badging their vehicles for a while now. They include Micra/Pulse, Scala/Sunny and Terrano/Duster. This isn't good for the manufacturer as well as customers too do not like it.
Renault Nissan share a manufacturing plant at Chennai, they have production capacity of almost 4 lakh units per year.
Datsun will be soon launching its vehicles in international markets like Indonesia, South Africa and Russia. There is a special sedan that Russia will get, specifically for them.
India will get 3 models from Datsun out of which, one is the GO. It is expected that the remaining two models will come subsequently by 2016.
Currently Datsun will focus on increasing their dealer network along with service stations across India.
